Protect the one...

The fear of cancer rearing it's ugly head is always present.  I have been having some pain in my remaining kidney.  That on top of a doctor telling me that he is worried about my kidney lab levels has me freaked.

I set up an appointment with the doctor who removed cancer almost a year ago, and he reassured me that my levels, for only having one kidney were decent.  He did set me up for a CT scan which I did,  but had to wait two weeks for the doctor to tell me the results.

Today was my appointment to get my results. The kidney is not compromised!  Doing well.  No enlargement. So my pain must be something else.  It's funny because this past weekend there were a few days where I didn't have any pain.  I have been hydrating myself better.  When talking to the doctor today, he said that he wasn't any kind of an expert in back pain and I mentioned how it feels better when I'm well hydrated, and he said that when we become dehydrated, any issues we have, rear their ugly heads. (My words...but that's what I heard..ugly heads...I think it's my phrase for this post....)

So lesson learned, I must keep myself hydrated.  I carry my 1-liter water bottle with me at all times.  Most days I drink it down and refill at lunch but always by the time I get home at the end of my work day and drink at least one more liter before bed.  Even though I may drink other things, coffee, soda, tea, I make sure to get my 2 liters of water in.

So yay, my kidney is doing well.  Now I have to figure out what this flank pain is.  I'm pretty sure it has to do with my weight which is still out of control. I am getting flustered with all of that.  I do well, exercise, eat at my calorie budget and gain.  I do know my thyroid is all askew, and that will take several weeks to settle, but it is so frustrating. I did buy salads for lunch today...so yeah...

In other news, my grey hair is coming in pretty well.  I am growing to love my white/silver/grey hair.  I'm hoping to be completely natural hair color by the end of summer.  No worries if it takes longer though.

that's what I'm talking about...

I get that I'm a fundamental kind of person. I ask the usual question when you get home. How was your day? What did you get for lunch?  Anything new?  ...and of course, you give me your run-of-the-mill answers.  Fine, blah blah blah... But then a day later you send me a picture of something that you bought while you were at a store and expect me not to start "narrating possible situations" because you don't write anything with that picture.  I'm just supposed to know.   This is why I feel confused and left out of your world.  Because you don't share those little details that I would love to get.  I know....basic girl crap....you know what?  It's basic because that is how it should be ...basic information sharing.

Some days I think I'd be happier being single because I wouldn't have any expectations of people...  Feeling meh...lonely... dismissed...
